Love is nothing but chemicals and eventually, that high wears off. Happiness needs to be deeper to have any chance of lasting. Basing it on our flawed biology is a path to disaster.

Dopamine stimulates states but not feelings and doesnt come close to matching the description of love. But they have noticed things like the most intense alpha frequencies found around those in love.
