Sounds like the name of a retirement home.
I have made tons of alts on GameFAQs. Embraced the burn there because they made accounts worthless when they implemented two way blocking. If you are gonna need to dump your account on a regular basis to reset enemy blocks, you might as well have fun. Block also killed any incentive to follow the rules. Why bother, when accounts are highly disposable.
In a way yeah. It has improved once they got rid of Block. No more personal echo chambers and selective censorship. Public actually means public.
Steam isn't an echo chamber. Plenty of gaming echo chambers out there like Gamefaqs and Resetera.

I found IGN to be a bit of an echo chamber. They just always rate everything 10 out of 10. Quite frankly, it's exhausting.
Steam doesn't have 2 way blocking. You can censor yourself, but not others.
Pretty much all places ban explicit hate speech and insults. Don't flame people and you're good.
