Customer Service is Terrible in Spain
I was just doing some random reading on the internet. Shockingly, I learned that customer service in Spain is near-universally despised!

https://mappingspain.com/the-absolute-worst-thing-about-living-in-spain/

It took 45 minutes on the phone for these people to cancel their cable (TV/internet) service. They said the modem/router had to be returned. But they had to wait 3 days to return it.

Then they didn't accept it. Claiming "the system is down".

Another incident was a loyalty points program for train rides. This person could not get the website to work properly, and couldn't get the points added to their account. The person was blown-off by the staff.

This person accidentally booked the wrong train. When trying to get it corrected? The employees just stalled and passed the buck.

Even on the train, it was bad. This person couldn't get any kind of service during the trip. They couldn't find a single employee anywhere.

Perfect in Iran, you say? Fascinating....so the key to flawless customer service is simply making sure no one actually shows up to ask for it. 🧐

The legal system is meant to be a mega minefield to navigate.

One of the books on Henry Morgan, it said Spain had galleons just filled with paperwork for its bureaucracy from the The Spanish Main.
A beggar had to have a license and this would be sent to Spain for confirmation.

Maybe the author was exaggerating to make a point but it always stuck.

Yeah, that's what I've been reading.

It seems to be rather common among European countries. There's just so much authoritarian red-tape getting in the way of even the smallest request.

It's like just a few people hold on to all the power, and use it to oppress the masses.
