Yes. There is always a possibility they'll spend it on drugs but regardless people need money to eat. If they don't have insurance no kind of hospital will help them (for long). Like there is no other form of help for these people so they'll either OD or pull through eventually. Or if i have food i'll just share it and most of the time they are very thankful.

I don’t give money. I do however give food.

I give money to street musicians, but I doubt they're homeless (don't see homeless people around, even though I've read there are some, mainly by choice).

I give money to charity.

Same here. I generally bring them a Gatorade, some food like a deli sandwich, and a sweet like a candy bar.
