Windows 10 support has ended
At least for anyone who doesn't want to shell out $30 USD or sell their soul to Microsoft for the ESU, or use an LTSC version of Windows.

Many people have expressed the desire to switch over to GNU/Linux due to the growing anticonsumer features, hardware requirements, and bloatware present in Windows 11. If you would like to switch but don't know where to start, I have made a beginners guide[april.nekoweb.org] that should hopefully help you get started.

Hopefully, you do have some sort of plan in place. Whether that be using LTSC, enrolling in the ESU, switching to a different operating system altogether, or (god forbid) "upgrading" to Windows 11.

I don't why you're so surprised by this. It was announced over two years ago that Windows 10 support would end one day. But like clockwork, everyone always freaks out when that day comes even though they were warned
my computer got another year of support for free... supposedly for backing up with onedrive but i never did that?

In general though, Windows generally sees an incredibly long amount of support compared to most other operating systems and it baffles me why Windows users can't see the day coming eventually.

They've had years to plan for this, yet many of them simply have not.
all my pc's came with free windows upgrade for life lol got OLD pcs and laptops that somehow upgraded to the new windows without breaking them, my old pcs are for media viewing got the dvd drive still

nd yea they will just keep movin the bar, it will be eye scans and fingerprints to log in one day

Will you remember me?
Don’t let your life pass you by.
Weep not for the memories.”

LTSC would be nice. But how does one go about getting a key for it?

Do you make up a company name that you supposedly work for?
The end date for W10 was known about for years. It's not some big surprise, and I doubt you're going to pooch many people for linux with your desperate fishing.

No one needs a guide for linux. They'll just (god not forbid) upgrade to W11.
I received a link from MS this morning for a free extension until October 2026.
If the €30 is per year, or if it were, why shouldn't I keep Windows 10 Pro for life?
There's no alternative for me, so everything's fine.

I am still using a lower level of windows.
Just so everyone knows, Windows 10 support ending doesn't mean your computer explodes or all the viruses and malware in the universe find you.

I mean, there's only 1 year of support with the ESU so it wouldn't be per year.

To get a free year, you need to back up your PC to OneDrive, which will likely require a Microsoft 365 subscription to have enough storage space.
And it's not €30 per year, it's €30 for just one extra year.
