I think the timeframe of her adoptions loosely coincides with the tail end celebrity fad for adopting African children.
I mean, Germans are always a bit behind on trends.

Personally, I think it's a combination of foolishly uprooting two probably already traumatized orphaned children from their cultural and ethnic racial, and using them as purse poodles.
That and the plain old innate psychopathology of human nature.

I'm not a huggy-feely, or a leftie.
I have my reservations about what she did based on my fundamental conservative principles.

Glad she's ok, and didn't die from her mistreatment, but the way the German authorities have decided to not press for attempted murder is very telling of their inability to grant agency to people of certain "protected categories", for good or ill.
