Great Things about the Soviet Union
There is a little bias on these forums against the Soviet Union and I think it would be nice if there was a thread dedicated to how great it might have been.

What was Great about the Soviet Union?

1.I like the way the AK 47 is much more simpler to fully strip than the Famas as well as the production costs.

The dancing Soviet bears
going from a state struggling to industrialize in the 1910s to one of the most technologically advanced superpowers in the world in the 1950s is an amazing accomplishment that would not have been possible without socialism.

Not to mention how things such as homelessness were basically eliminated (and have now returned since the collapse of the USSR)

The USSR was also a key part in spearheading the decolonization movement in Africa, which saw the brutal and inhumane colonial governments which enslaved swathes of people lead by countries such as France, Spain, Britain, Portugal, and more be overthrown. Many in Africa are now free due in part from help from the USSR.

There's lots of great things about the USSR!

'might'.
Give it a few years, and you'll be making another thread as to how good the Russian Federation 'might' have been too.

The pace at which they fully industrialized, which was absurdly quickly compared to other nations, to the point they got several 1st during the space race.
Also OUR Anthem.

Education under the Soviet Union was great according to people who lived under its rule, well compared to now anyway. And their celebration of nationalism is something i really like, but Chernobyl and it's documentaries have learned me that not all was well.
