what if the UK is experiencing this oppression because as a smaller nation they are less equipped to oppose an outside influence. what if that same influence is affecting EU but less noticeable because they have banded together in number and scholarship?
it almost seems like the UK is going through a more severe and rapid version of what you describe is happening in the eu, "a failed socialist project." historically, the uk has never been socialist and I'm pretty sure that's one of the main reasons they left the eu in the first place.
yet here we are, where people sacrifice autonomy and liberty to aid strangers- foreigners- immigrants- as if the social system they want to create hasn't already been deemed a, "failure."
I'll expect to see your studied opinion in about 6 months if you take a casual course on economics / the eu.
Good Luck.
-to one and all I have some pretty strong opinions against the EU but do not rely on headlines to shape my entire world view.

Well, move to the US.
free transportation, free food, free toiletries, free housing, free utility bills, free health insurance and healthcare, free baby supplies, free school fees for children and if there aren't government programs that already exist think of how many thousands of charities exist to cover the gaps.
you have to have a serious psychological disorder to, "fall through the cracks," in socialist america (ie; not asking for help). meanwhile I have a brain condition that prevents me from driving and I can't get a nurse to come to my house because, "I make too much money in ohio to use the government-financed hospital." this is literally what they told me.
and this is also part of why I'll be booking the next ticket out of here once mexico or some other third world country gets their head out of their ass and reduces their visa restrictions from 11 million usd to something reasonable. I can literally buy citizenship and an entire island in greece for that kind of money, but now I'm on the other side of the world.

It turns out a lot of countries NEED immigrants, despite all the hatred racists manage to stir up about it, and it turns out that being in the EU is amazing for trade and the economy overall.
Honestly not sure if OP is bot, ignorant, or an outright delusional ultra-nationalist/racist.
that being said, I'm pretty sure at no point did op mention that he was from uk and 2 or 3 people for some reason assume that he is but just to be clear it makes absolutely no sense that s/he would feel that their country is being neglected in the eu if they didn't live in the eu.
One of the posts is what is complained about in the UK press regularly so I 'assumed' .
The OP has not declared their country and until they do then it is pretty much just a trash topic.
