I know you don't know me, but I may as well take the time to say something from the heart that can hopefully apply to other situations as well.

If you're rage-baiting in a way that does NOT promote strong and quality rebuttals that aren't just arguments of common sense, such as saying "pedophilia good" to be met with common knowledge instead of "wow, this dev is greedy" to be met with information not everyone knows about the dev (even if the poster did), it's basically spam. That's not to say that saying "pedophilia good" was my style of rage-bait for this forum, but I did farm for jesters and crap a while back. There wasn't really some deeper commentary to be had about a "I hate getting jesters, so don't send them to me!!1" LARP. It's a silly extraneous feature of this forum. I don't remember the exact context, but I still don't think my post was using the art of satire to provoke genuine discussions. An example of GOOD rage-bait could also be, "There's no way you can mathematically prove so-and-so", as it would help further knowledge. Lukewarm/thin ice rage bait could be something that's fun but doesn't provide a major benefit OR downside, such as saying that a furry video game should have more humans. You could make a post glazing humans, and it could make people laugh, with the dev understanding that you're not genuinely criticizing the game for not having more humans.

While we're here, I've had SINCERE bad takes too, sort of like that "you can't mathematically prove..." example I used as satire to social engineer you into constructive conversation to spoon-feed me information I don't want to research myself. But sometimes, I legit didn't even care about BACK-AND-FORTH DISCOURSE: I just wanted my voice to be heard, and I didn't care if it was controversial.

In case any points of discussion here weren't clear, you could discuss how you feel about rage-bait, the cynicism on this forum, people speaking without due research, and anything else my post might remind you of. The sensationalized pursuit of intelligence and non-victimizing entertainment, even if a bit stupid, annoying, and tasteless to some, contributes well to society depending on the context, but babbling nothingness just to be mean doesn't so much. Thoughts?
