Can 18+ media finally be exiled from mainstream view?
And yes this is my continuation of my posts making this now my triad, which I will yet again link below, as I simply have lots to say at this moment in time and it cannot wait to be said.

Personally I do not subjugate myself to this kind of explicit material on a regular basis because I simply don’t want it and I believe no one else should want it too for that matter. Unfortunately...earlier last month I and many others were subjugated to just that very material in question. As valve or someone working in valve purposefully allowed the promotion of a NSFW title on their homepage (or at least for some of us) and it even appeared in the top 10 results at one point that goes by the name of “femboy futa house” and it is on steam’s store mind you. First off, the fact that a NSFW game made with the help of AI gets promoted on the official store is systematically two wrongs in itself. Valve failed to protect its customers and creators by allowing filth and a poor quality title to be considered a suitable product for just about anyone. After seeing this it did in fact ruin that very same week for me and it also made me feel quite inadequate, not because of the intended material found inside that title, but because I wasn’t expecting to see a NSFW game upon opening my steam client on the front page. For whatever reason it also made me feel terrible and I’m sure other people and women also felt the same way I did. If I was easily as affected then I believe other people might’ve experienced similar feelings about the content of that title, but as well as NSFW titles in general as a whole.

So it led me to the idea if valve and other platforms that house explicit content should be given their own dark section rather than it being in full view of just any age verified account. An 18+ section for example and you would need to purposefully access this page in order to start viewing content that is explicit or otherwise NSFW. I think this should be a feature across various platforms as well including the likes of books, movies, shows, manga, and anime. And I also think there should be guidelines for what gets sectioned off as 18+ and is removed from the SFW view or the normal state of the platform. This would obviously include egregious games like the GTA series, as well as any games that portray full or even just a hint of sexual content going on. I’m all for freedom of expressions, but we do not need this type of portrayal in our media as it is almost always irrelevant to the story anyways and often times a method that some creators like to use is the fade to black transition or perhaps a setting already displaying the aftermath. There has to be a rating system put back in place and it is ever absent from games, books, and various shows and animes that lack the accurate needed ratings. I would however give the pass to well crafted media that makes an effort to go up and beyond with the story, characters, and plot. Often times LGBT and maturity content contains dubious and shoddy story telling elements around sensitive topics that don’t do the topics any justice and give wrongful ideas on how to navigate them correctly. I’ve had to cancel plans on various media because I was not interested in learning from the title in question after finding out something that went against my beliefs.

I like that fiction is a realm of many possibilities and it’s a place people can dive into in the comfort of their own homes, but I also think too many bad actors exploit this aspect and I’ve come to the realization that many tend to be hypocritical in their works compared to their real lives. For example in the world of books many of them now contain explicit scenes and morally questionable characters, yet the creator lives a life of virtues, standards, and order while their ideas for their stories tend to be exact opposite. It’s essentially low standards for thee but not for me and I think that’s quite evil to do, because you’re creating a story/character(s) and they’re doing things that you yourself would never go through nor do, yet you can give others the idea and impression that this is how a person ought to behave in certain situations. The freedom was always there I suppose, however you have to realize how sad these people are and they subliminally want you to settle for less or sometimes even nothing. They have the talent to write, draw, code, voice, and teach but they purposefully misuse their gifts when they would know what things make others happy, including themselves. People know what makes them stop feeling thirsty they still don’t want to drink water until they really need it, people know what makes them stop feeling hungry they’re never miles away from a valid source of food, and people certainly know what makes them happy and they still want to abuse the elements of life that take it away or give it to you in fullness.

I got side tracked for a bit, but this is really a call for there to be change in the platforms we use. The lack of curation, quality control, and an easy access to become a creator is what, and is leading to the collapse of industries across the board and once you lost the trust in the customer they won’t be coming back, ever. Many creators rely on these very same platforms to host their products, but so do many customers rely on a stable platform to use.

Proverbs 28:13 ESV “Whoever conceals his transgressions will not prosper, but he who confesses and forsakes them will obtain mercy.”

heres how you deal with 18+ media:

- view it if you want
- do not view if you want

there is no other way. peace to you, friend
OP you might not know this, but under our clothes we're all naked.

I agree with you...Sexually explicit games should simply be banned from Steam...But it all boils down to money...If Steam bans them, the money will go elsewhere and Steam bosses do not want that...So they allow it with shoddy checks to keep it away from young gamers...They will not change their approach until law enforcement makes them change their approach...That is simply all it boils down to...
Can you imagine the cops busting down the doors of a VHS rental shop to confiscate all the porn movies? That would be so "land of the free".
We kept it behind a curtain and that was good enough for society.

Let's be clear, porn isn't what's ruining things.

This. If the only crime committed by our politicians was visiting Epstein's island, then the USA would be a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ utopia right now. There would be no inflation, everyone would have high paying jobs, there would be no national debt, everyone would live in affluence. The American Dream would be reality.

The sexual crimes are among the least harmful things committed by one human against another. Yet it's hyper-fixated on while the actually harmful stuff has a blind eye turned upon it.

Follow the money. Where is all the money going? Wasn't it supposed to trickle down?

We need more transparency in our banking system, government funding, and stock market. The flow of money is hidden behind closed doors because the people who control the money know they would be lynched - and rightfully so - for the crimes they are committing. Crimes that harm hundreds of millions of their fellow citizens. And I'm only caring about the financial crimes inside the USA. You could stretch it to billions of people if you care about international financial crime.

Not really, I was merely pointing out a flaw in the current system of affairs.

Thanks Sal brother, I will try to do that now.

That however is quite unfortunate to know.
I didn’t read all of this but I think I agree with you.

I saw a card game that’s sexually explicit that’s free but has DLCs that are $50 each. Then there’s Femboy Futa.

That 💩 definitely does not belong on mainstream Steam. There should be a “Steam Black Edition” or something.

People act like kids don’t lie about their age. I did when I was a kid, lol. There’s nothing stopping kids from lying about age and making an 18 y/o account, that I know of (correct me if I’m wrong).
It already is, OP. You have to deliberately go out of your way to enable adult content on Steam.
Games where you kill others against their consent have been on top sellers on Steam since... ever.

So... Remember kids. Sexy time bad, but you can kill as many people as you like.
Just a reminder OP

Violence, Gore, Profany, etc. are also NSFW.

I can´t wait for a world where the only game that is promoted is Animal Crossing.

Maybe we could just make Steam a mature platform and then have them make a light children/teens versions, where they only see those cute games, because we all know, that 16 year olds only wanna play stuff like Animal Crossing.

Also, the word OP is looking for is "subjected," rather than "subjugated," but given the quality of the rest of the bait, it'd be foolish to expect literacy.

the dark triad of anti-goonerism

I agree with the general premise, people are way too open with their masturbatory habits these days and it weirds me out, half of the steam front page just being porn is an embarrassment

Embarassment to the triple A industry. This scenario would not be possible if big corpos didn't ♥♥♥♥ up the industry so bad that 95% of triple A games are a joke or at best mediocre meh products.
