Trump says drug prices are going to go down
https://youtu.be/YaDbq24CCeg

"100%, 200%, 400%, 1000% in some cases"

I didn't think drugs could go down 100%. You would think giving away free drugs would bankrupt the healthcare companies.

But you're going to give me money to take your drugs?

I hope someone cuts that part of his speech. It's pure gold as meme material.
Putting RFK up on the podium to give such a long speech is just trolling.

I can't stop laughing at this. Trump is ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ hilarious.
Finally, you guys deserved some socialism, as a treat for being so well behaved.

I don't think we're actually getting free drugs.

I think Trump can't do basic math.
He also said he'd end the war on day 1, and a lot of other things that never came to fruition.

I wish I could feel like that guy for just a minute of everyday and I'd probably be ok for the rest of my life.

Just blast out a minute of pure joy like that and ride it thru the rest of the day my lord. Is there some sort of thing can make me feel like that? 100% off? 200% off 400% off?! 1000% OFF?!?!?!?!?!!?

so dogs will be cheaper to take care of?
Only certain drug prices will go down.

NPR:

“AstraZeneca became the second drugmaker to enter a deal with the Trump administration to offer lower prices to Medicaid and to offer some of its drugs at a discount through TrumpRx, a government website to facilitate sales directly to consumers.”

Trump is trying hard to white-label things to his name. Instead of fixing the AHCA he wants a new one that’s not associated with Obama, but the AHCA should be a building point.
——————-
As someone who’s had Type 1 Diabetes since age 12, I’m not holding my breath for Trump to do anything more than the very least… and that’s just to try & make himself look like Jesus. (The Beast of the Sea is destined to fool the world).

Most people do not understand that if you’re a relatively healthy person then we ARE NOT equals. You didn’t have a $4K+ annual medical debt when moving out on your own. You got away with working menial jobs that offered ZERO insurance or anything else to address my disability.

You were able to join the military when you didn’t know where to turn. You’re able to be pilots, military, & have more opportunities for success, or little restraints that hold you back.
——————-
Try asking an AI model to run a comparison between 2 people who are moving out on their own. 1 healthy person vs someone with a disability like type 1 diabetes.

Have it include job opportunities like the military, pilot, etc which are not available for people like myself. Include jobs that don’t have to offer insurance. Include that if we’re both making minimum wage that you still don’t have a $4K+ annual medical debt… plus your rent, travel expenses, food, etc.

WE ARE NOT EQUALS!!!!!
It was explained months ago that one of the reasons the costs were high in the first place was because drug companies were offloading the costs onto Americans after European countries passed price fixing laws. You can actually find average drug prices compared between the US and Europe over the past couple decades and it only starts to shoot up in the US after those laws were passed in Europe. We've been paying more so Europeans can pay less, and stopping that practice is one thing Trump said he was going to do.

The percentages is how much it gets marked up for us vs other nations.

I seen the cost of private insurance for someone category go from $75/month to over $400/month upon passage of the ACA. I don't care to hear someone champion that ♥♥♥♥, while complaining about costs. It needs to be repealed in full.

In which state? A red one I bet. I've known 1 person as well that was negatively affected by it and it was because of the state they lived in. It may have even been the options they chose.

"States with high ACA costs

West Virginia: Consistently cited as having one of the most expensive ACA markets, especially in recent years.

Alaska: Frequently listed among the states with the highest premiums, with a particularly high cost for benchmark plans in 2024.

Wyoming: Has also shown up in the top tier of most expensive states for ACA plans.

Vermont: Was the most expensive state for a benchmark plan in 2024.

South Dakota: Has appeared on lists of states with high premium costs.

Mississippi: Has been identified as having high premium costs.

Nebraska: Has been cited as having high premiums.
----------
Factors contributing to high costs

Limited insurer competition: A smaller number of insurance companies offering plans in a state can lead to higher prices.

State-specific factors: State-level healthcare costs, demographics, and regulations can all contribute to higher premium prices compared to the national average.

Expiration of enhanced subsidies: Without federal subsidies, which are set to expire at the end of 2025, premiums could rise dramatically in many states, with West Virginia, Wyoming, and others facing potential increases of over 300% for families relying on tax credits.
-----------
It's tRump creating a problem to seemingly fix one.
