Help Boost My Team Rep
Hey everyone,
I just wanted to post a quick warning about a suspicious activity that’s been going around lately.

A random person added me on Steam, claiming they needed help “boosting their team reputation.”
They’ve never played any games, but their Dota 2 profile shows over 1400+ hours played. When I checked, they were just AFK in the lobby clearly trying to make the account look active and legit.

I’ve noticed multiple accounts doing the exact same thing same message, same “boost team rep” story, and identical activity patterns.

This is definitely a scam. Usually, they’ll try to get you to click a fake link or log into a fake site to “vote” or “support their team,” which ends up stealing your Steam credentials or items.

🚫 What to do:

Don’t click any links they send you.

Block and report the account on Steam.

Warn your friends if they get similar messages.

Be careful of anyone asking for “votes,” “rep boosts,” or “team support” — especially if their account looks suspicious.

Stay safe everyone — if anyone else has seen this, feel free to share your experience so we can help more people avoid it.

Old scam. And people have posted thousands of this same PSA and didn't see it or adhere to them. After all you didn't see any of them.

OP also failed to read the official support article about this scam.

Scam: Vote for My Team

Okay, maybe I shouldn't be so harsh. After all, OP means well :hp_kyu:.

Those accounts are all over the place, most of the time all in the same name.
They all look the exact same too.
In moderating for the group I do, I decided to dig through the member list. There was about 100 of the same bot account, past that there was literally thousands more of these accounts.
Ever wonder how you can join a massive group or community and no ones active? That's how.
