When you see women being harassed in online games, do you take a stand or try to call out that behavior? Have you personally challenged men who treat women disrespectfully in-game?

Despite progress, many women gamers continue to face harassment. A 2024 study found that 56% of women players experienced some form of sexual harassment during online gaming.

In competitive settings, research revealed that 82 instances of sexual harassment occurred in 120 matches, with over 80% of matches involving general verbal abuse.

This, and often players past age 30–40 too. Super pointless that they do it, they should just let people enjoy it regardless of gender, age, race, ethnicity, etc.

it's part of the culture, it's a if you can't stand the heat stay out of the kitchen situation. people think only people of certain specific identities get harraseed while the truth is, everyone gets harassed without exceptions. the only way to stop it is to prove that you are part of the gang, and that is by playing good and also having some good verbal comebacks, after that anyone who tries to harrass you will get their asses handed to them by the bros.

no, and it is because i just do not wish to get involved. i play dead by daylight, one of the most notoriously toxic games of all time. i am utterly desensitised to people saying off colour things in video games, it has zero impact on me at this point.

if someone begins arguing or flinging unkind words at another user, i just mute them and continue playing the game. i play video games to play them, not to get into arguments (or step in on arguments) between online strangers.

I just remember the study that the ones who are the least skilled ♥♥♥♥ talk the most specifically women cause they think they're an easier target
If i had to pick I'd much rather prefer the sexual harassment, I'm actually offended i haven't gotten it so far or maybe I'm desintised because I encourage it, that and other players barely talk in chat uwu

no they ♥♥♥♥ talk based on what they think will annoy you the most. if you are a woman they will pile on this to annoy you, it is not because you are a woman but because they know that doing so will irritate you.
