no, it makes them uncomfortable. they don't want to lie to me about circumstances, which is basically what saying such a thing would be inviting, and also it presents an actual threat to their wellbeing for me to suggest that I do, or even to leave the question hanging in the air.

It's threatening just to clarify that there's simple mutual love there, and it's become a main component of the daily compulsions we're all subjected to. Specifically because it's a threat vector.

I had to come to terms with this when I was 6 or 7. What about you?
