ICE has signed court orders for specific individuals who have been given their final deportation orders. Harboring these people and impeding the feds is illegal and deserves a visit to federal prision

On one hand, I do disagree with the concept of sanctuary cities. Illegal immigrants granted sanctuary should be exceptions to the rule (i.e. children with family members who are legal or citizens, or people from places like Palestine and Ukraine who came here on visas that have since expired who would be in danger if they returned home, provided if they don't have criminal records), not the norm.
On the other hand, Trump and his administration are objectively evil and his ICE have frequently violated the Constitution, the law, and human rights.
Also, it makes no sense to send the Texas National Guard to Illinois.

What kids today need is some good old fashioned hard work. Obviously at the nearby cockroach farm.

400 guardsman do absolutely nothing regarding long lastin improving public security.

They are not trained for policework, there is no state of emergency and even if it was, they would not be enough to do anything and it would not solve the underlying problems, so as soon as they leave, the problems would appear again.

It is solely to have a precedent of the US president deploying military inside the United States against the resistence of individial states. So next time, he will be able to deploy more military (and this time maybe the real US Army) in order to quench any kind of political dissent.

Why the ♥♥♥♥ do you think Hegseth had his little TED talk recently? Their clear and obvious intend is to remove illoyal people (i.e. military leaders bound by their oath to the consituttion) from the US military and replace them with loyal people.

Of course it makes sense if you want to establish a precedence, where you send troops from states loyal to the president against states criticial of the president.

I guess there wasn't any cop (or soldier, which would be even less helpful and probably result in my death just like the perpetrators) conveniently close by when I was robbed at gunpoint once. Either way, I likely would've just ended up dead instead of unharmed and cooperating with the robbers if a cop was around.

"Save me" though. Yeah right.

There was also no cop nearby conveniently to save me when someone held a knife to me (not at my throat or anything or that close but still), although I would disagree with shooting or harming that person in that situation unless they actually attacked me or came very close, and even saying that I would prefer the cop stays away and I not end up like that old lady who got held by knifepoint and had a bunch of LAPD swarm around her, ended up shooting and killing her also (different from by situation but was just saying, in theory if it hadn't of been).

Sometimes, get this, it's best to stay away and not provoke a situation further. Something some police don't understand?

i have a genius solution. draft everyone into every state's national guard, and then deploy them. thus there will never be any crime, and as a bonus, the unemployment rate will go down to 0%

That's all fine and dandy, but this whole situation is not about crime and/or policing. It is simply about Trump trying to bend his power to the breaking point and trying to get away with as much as possible, so the next steps of trying to actually break the law and consitutiion become easier.
