other than that, medieval 2 because it has one of the best conversion mods ever (turns it into middle-earth).
Then I would recommend the Warhammer trilogy just for sheer scope and content.
original, non remastered.. I got a cdrom they can borrow.. or an .iso i can burn for them.
it also excists on android. (dosbox) so I might have them spend the 12 euro to have the original rome total war on their phone
Next I'd recommend Medieval 2, the Kingdoms' campaigns, and then the Lord of the Rings mod.
The ultimate edition is probably Warhammer 3 with all previous games and expansions, but I have no interest in that so I can't vouch for it.
