I can summarize it with a word of equal mystique, import, and magical power:

Incorrect.

Probably a colloquial meaning of, "Whatever that you can't find a good spot for goes here?"
so what is allowed in this steam off topic container in here?

broader subjects that don't fit into the other subforums. like say for example you wanna discuss a genre of video game, it would be better to discuss it here than in a specific video games subforum. its almost like a quarantine of sorts. just have random discussions and share your thoughts about whatever, noone has to read it but its fun for people to have hobbies and see those hobbies shared by others
can you tell me in less complicated english, please?
somebody?

Someone reported you for whatever reason and the automod rolled a d20. A 20 sided die used in roleplaying games.

A script could ban a whole brigade in seconds.

I remember back in 2016 that Off-Topic was more of a niche subforum that mostly talked about goofy nonsense (that isn’t political or religious since it was banned at the time). Oh, how times changed.

Being off topic, is being not pertaining to the topic, product, or hobby, that the website is centered around.

E.g. Steam is a video game platform, so "off topic" from Steam would be discussions not about video games in particular.

Quintessentially.

See the forum rules for what is not allowed, and then you may lean towards assuming that anything goes.
call the police
Off topic used to be fun.

Now it's just full of political spam.
american spam?
I prefer... you know... nevermind... saying this would just get me banned again. 😂
