gen z

is there anyone else that's gen z that is so sick of the soulless media we have today be it music, movies ect?
i get asked by rl friends al the time why i have boomer tastes, am i weird?

pop music has always been catchy and mostly soulless, such is the consequence of making art commercially

I don't think the movies thing holds much water, film is definitely much the same as it has been, older movies just feel more novel to someone so young, perhaps, but hollywood is hit or miss as always, with tons of interesting films releasing all the time, if you keep your eyes open

really? it just seems to me like people had fun making things back in the before times.
like now it seems like they do it things based on idk how to put it? like they follow a script there is no fun or soul

As a Gen X myself, I think every generation has their classics. It's just the genres have changed a lot with every passing generation.
