Should LGBTQ kids be forced into conversion therapy?
Supreme Court is listening to arguments right now.

Its a Colorado case. Its going to be overturned. You just know it. The Supreme Court is made mostly of conservatives now.

So if this gets overturned does that mean LGBTQ kids will forced into conversion therapy by law? Its the project 2025 playbook I guess.

Why is it called "conversion therapy" instead of "physically torture, castrate, and surgically alter gay kids"[en.wikipedia.org]? Christian conservatives sure love their disingenuous euphemisms lol.

Anyway, expect that that crowd to support this for the imaginary reasons that they oppose transgenderism. It's hypocritical on the surface, but they are selfish people who ultimately want to control the sexualities of others instead of allowing people to make that choice themselves.
The issue is not "Should lgbtq kids be forced into conversion therapy?" This is your own misleading headline which has nothing to do with the issue before the court.

The actual issue is "Should doctors be banned from doing anything but affirming a patient's gender?"

Doctors cannot say "Well, maybe you might not actually be transgender, maybe there's some other issue which is causing you to feel bad. Let's investigate that". That is prohibited under Colorado law and viewed as "conversion therapy.

The issue before the court is: Do doctors have freedom of speech, or does the law constitute viewpoint discrimination?

Conservative Justice Samuel Alito seemed to embrace the plaintiff's claim that Colorado's law aims to marginalize views the state dislikes, saying the measure appears to allow therapists to help a patient feel comfortable about being gay but bars them from helping a patient who seeks to "end or lessen" their same-sex attraction.
"It seems to me your statute dictates opposite results in those two situations" based on the viewpoint expressed, Alito told Stevenson.
"Looks like blatant viewpoint discrimination," Alito added.

It's a sickening form of torture.

Arguing that it should be accepted as free speech just allows the disgusting over-conservative neo-republican right wing to to steal your taxes and redistribute them to what ever unqualified yokel they think fits the job of "counselor". No credential required. "I got my credentials from god."

It's a never ending assault on established norms just for the sake of "sticking it to the libs", or antifa, or whatever football team they don't like. EVERYTHING, and I mean EVERYTHING that has come from the dump administrations is rooted in callous evil, for evil is the absence of empathy.

All of your "different" views are you just you hating different minorities lol

Additionally the same supreme court ruled against gender affirming care[www.supremecourt.gov], with the president criminalizing it via executive orders.[www.nbcnews.com]

Remember "considered" it's transphobic and considered hateful/bigoted for a straight guy not to date a biological male who identifies as a woman.

Now as a woke person I think it's important to bring awareness to the societal pressures that are put on certain groups.

I also don't think that people should be labeled as bad for not being attracted to other people.

That might be the dumbest lie spouted on the forums today. Maybe in your creepy little mind silo that's the case, but out here, in the real world, people can date anyone they want.
That's up to their parents.

It should be treated the same way as medical treatment for any other mental condition.

Well I'm glad your therapists (plural) have given you the confidence you need to face this topsy turvy world .

You are falling for the "guilt by association" fallacy.

"Conversion therapy" is a broad term that encompasses a wide range of practices. "Jesus camps" are called conversion therapy. "Physical torture, castration and surgical alteration", as Inoue is also called conversion therapy. Lobotomies are called conversion therapy. And so is a therapist just asking questions.

Talk therapy is not a lobotomy, but they are both claimed to be "conversion therapy". Obviously, these two things are very different.

People reach for the most horrible example of "conversion therapy", and then falsely claim that all conversion therapy is that one horrible thing. It's like claiming that sending a child to time out is equivalent to death by firing squad, since they are both examples of "punishment". The fallacy should be obvious.

Arguing that it should be accepted as free speech just allows the disgusting over-conservative neo-republican right wing to to steal your taxes and redistribute them to what ever unqualified yokel they think fits the job of "counselor". No credential required. "I got my credentials from god."

Why would this "counselor" be funded by taxes, as opposed to getting paid by his patients directly?

Okay. This has nothing to do with what I wrote.
They are already doing conversion therapy to trans the gay away. There's a reason why the vast majority are autistic and/or gay/lesbian. Because old conversion therapy didn't actually work, gay people were still gay. And those gay people who experienced that in the past know that they should not be forced to sleep with a woman proclaiming they are a "gay" guy. Sexuality is literally just "leave me alone". Not "pander and obey my every whim OR ELSE" like this thread is whining for. This new conversion therapy still doesn't stop them from being gay, but the brainwashing actually does change their mindset to think they are not gay, they truly then believe that they are now straight, and it does castrate them to "look more straight". Gay effeminate men do this a lot because someone told them to. Even outside of the US, there have been many countries for the past many decades that because they will get stoned if they are gay, they are much, much safer dressing up as a woman for the other gay men who can't be seen around a man who looks like a man. You see it more often in places where being gay is illegal or was illegal until a few moments ago. This is the reason behind all the "ladyboys", because if they were openly gay, they would get killed. There is a huge market for gay men where they can bypass the stoning if they dress like a straight couple.

Therapy really is a wonderful thing. I started seeing my first therapists after college offered it to those traumatized by conservative Speaker Ben Shapiro speaking at our campus.

It was alot of trauma to get over. My wife's boyfriend argues that I should have taken all the money I spent on therapy to invest, but I think therapy was worth it.

If it's privately funded, than it't not free speech.
