Anyway, expect that that crowd to support this for the imaginary reasons that they oppose transgenderism. It's hypocritical on the surface, but they are selfish people who ultimately want to control the sexualities of others instead of allowing people to make that choice themselves.
The actual issue is "Should doctors be banned from doing anything but affirming a patient's gender?"
Doctors cannot say "Well, maybe you might not actually be transgender, maybe there's some other issue which is causing you to feel bad. Let's investigate that". That is prohibited under Colorado law and viewed as "conversion therapy.
The issue before the court is: Do doctors have freedom of speech, or does the law constitute viewpoint discrimination?

Arguing that it should be accepted as free speech just allows the disgusting over-conservative neo-republican right wing to to steal your taxes and redistribute them to what ever unqualified yokel they think fits the job of "counselor". No credential required. "I got my credentials from god."
It's a never ending assault on established norms just for the sake of "sticking it to the libs", or antifa, or whatever football team they don't like. EVERYTHING, and I mean EVERYTHING that has come from the dump administrations is rooted in callous evil, for evil is the absence of empathy.
Additionally the same supreme court ruled against gender affirming care[www.supremecourt.gov], with the president criminalizing it via executive orders.[www.nbcnews.com]
Now as a woke person I think it's important to bring awareness to the societal pressures that are put on certain groups.
I also don't think that people should be labeled as bad for not being attracted to other people.
That might be the dumbest lie spouted on the forums today. Maybe in your creepy little mind silo that's the case, but out here, in the real world, people can date anyone they want.
It should be treated the same way as medical treatment for any other mental condition.
You are falling for the "guilt by association" fallacy.
"Conversion therapy" is a broad term that encompasses a wide range of practices. "Jesus camps" are called conversion therapy. "Physical torture, castration and surgical alteration", as Inoue is also called conversion therapy. Lobotomies are called conversion therapy. And so is a therapist just asking questions.
Talk therapy is not a lobotomy, but they are both claimed to be "conversion therapy". Obviously, these two things are very different.
People reach for the most horrible example of "conversion therapy", and then falsely claim that all conversion therapy is that one horrible thing. It's like claiming that sending a child to time out is equivalent to death by firing squad, since they are both examples of "punishment". The fallacy should be obvious.
Why would this "counselor" be funded by taxes, as opposed to getting paid by his patients directly?
Okay. This has nothing to do with what I wrote.
It was alot of trauma to get over. My wife's boyfriend argues that I should have taken all the money I spent on therapy to invest, but I think therapy was worth it.
If it's privately funded, than it't not free speech.
