The whole point of paying for the subscription was to NOT see ads, so if there are blatant ads, the purpose of the subscription is no longer relevant, and me and my money will go elsewhere.
People need to vote with their wallets and grow a backbone, knowing that they may have to "miss out on something" if it means enough people do it to make things better in the long run.

oh my godd, microsoft's most poorly-performing sector is performing more poorly; their monopoly is losing its grip, it might not even be a monopoly anymore.
or.... and hear it out....
they could "not buy" AND "complain" about it, so companies hear that we dont want their garbage ads?
or companies like samsung, who are going to feed you ads on your refrigerators and similar appliances, if they happen to have screens?
or wanting to feed ads, to anything connected to an hdmi port?
