None.

What about you?
Well ill be damned, a gaming topic in ot :TOIlogo:

I could name plenty but will only mention the one game i never finished precisely for that aspect: monster hunter world and its (i think) lategame dragons because i needed their loot to make better armor so those dragons would not kill me in one hit, it just wasnt fun so i stopped playing it ever since.
Pretty much any in monster hunter world. Monsters take so much damage and you chase them around the map for like 2 hours and then they run away.
I don't know if it counts as a fight but the electric torture scene in MGS if you don't have an autofire controller.

Ruins your hands :D
probably the original raids in everquest where you would line healers up on a timer so 8 could be casting while 1 landed a heal, the boss would just randomly 1 shot players who had to be ressurected. you had to do this epic quest that took months just to stand in that line or you would run out of mana. to get there you had to solve a puzzle of keys on floating islands in the sky. it's all on auto pilot now but back before guides I remember it was pretty difficult.

I was a lot younger then and so was the online gaming community so of course that made it more difficult as well.

Sinh from Dark Souls 2. That dragon... That ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ dragon.
the Valiant Gargoyles in Elden Ring. The Poison Breath attack they do was a right pain but it was very satisfying once I beat them. :serikesu:
I can't recall specific fights off the top of my head, but I hate it when games pull one of these:

  • Multi-phase boss fights that interrupt you with a cutscene, then completely reposition all characters between phases. This should be especially forbidden for tactical grids, but it happens every now and then.
  • Enemies with "invincibility cocoons" that pop up every X% of their HP, and you have to just sit and spin until it clears. With or without a trash mob phase, it's just boring and lazy time padding.
  • Any enemy that gets ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ time warp mechanics...it's rare but is absolute cancer. Grim Dawn has a nemesis or two that does that...the one spot of crap design in an otherwise flawless game.

Good for you.
Final boss of Atelier Sophie 2.

Not because the fight is hard, but because the boss is screaming in a squeaky voice, like shut the hell up, damn.

Also final boss of Ninja Gaiden 3 Razor's Edge, it was horrible.

I love both these games a lot though.

Don't you love it when they recover HP too.

my absolute favorite is when their invincible hp recovery phase doesn't end until you run across the area and touch a mcguffin :steambored:

Good for you.

to answer your question GTA 4 mission with Phil Bell, forgot the name.
His AI is dumb and he kept running into the gunfire getting killed immediately. You can't even stop him unless you get him trapped somewhere leaving you to take everyone out yourself
It would be bearable if it wasn't a long drive there and back everytime you fail the mission uwu
recently, eris from Hades 2; not a super difficult fight but because she moves around so much she invalidates a lot of playstyles and modes of attack which can make it take really long
