Do you bite your fingers?
I bite my fingers and I never thought about how insane it is to be deliberately peeling away at skin until I reflected on it. I wonder how people who bite their fingers and people who dont view this.

No. I prefer doing something more constructive with my time and to use more beneficial coping mechanisms should I need any.

You have a compulsive disorder called Dermatophagia and perhaps other underlying mental health issues associated with compulsive behaviors.

Dermatophagia is basically a coping mechanism to relieve stress, anxiety, boredom or other emotions and people with the condition have wired their brain (or more accurately the mesolimbic pathways) to derive temporary gratification from the practice as a reward, which only further reinforces this behavior.

It's not normal, but fairly common. It carries the risk of infection and skin damage, even permanent disfigurement in the most severe cases. It can also have a negative impact on your mental health in the long term.

If you want to quit, consider contacting a mental health professional for treatment.
I bite my thumb, sir.

Not at you, sir--but I do bite my thumb.
Put that anti nail biting solution that makes your nails bitter
No, because that's disgustingly unsanitary.
I bite nipples
Nope but ill bite yours if they come near me :3 :bluerune::luv:
throughout stressful times in my life i did find it habitual to chew the dead skin from my fingertips. but only cause im a stupid baby who doesn't know better
ya, I bite myself..
I like chewing on my own skin, mostly just the thick sides of my fingers near the side of my nails (that extra growth that is usually clipped off anyway), it has a nice texture, and it provides recycled nutrients like collagen/protein.

Yeah i started at it when I was 10 and it was really bad then I got a lot better but I still tend to unconsciously do it when im bored or feel like I need to get a hand on things
I used to out of stress, but I've replaced it with other hand-to-mouth habits (sipping water/tea, chewing gum, breathlace, etc). The bad habit started when I didn't have nail clippers.
