Woman asked me if I was gay
Hi everyone, I am still overthinking about this.

We were having a dinner at some place and in the middle of the conversation, she asked me if I was gay from out ot nowhere, I said no and said what made you brought this up? She said nothing so we continued along the conversation. There were few zoning out moments from me then we part ways.

I may be overthinking but I have a feeling it’s cuz of my disinterested body language that got her curious but really I enjoyed the dinner and that was it.

What food did you order?
Also it seems a tad odd for her to ask that, so maybe that was a sign to you in terms of compatibility

Burger and chips meal, not sure how that’s relevant
It can go both ways:

1. You share the demeanor and mannerisms commonly found in gay people

2. She felt jaded by something you did, and if she's toxic, she'd probably think you'd have to be gay to not be attracted to her to some unknown degree.

I say ignore it and move on.
That's also a very rude thing to say to someone without context or explanation,
so do with that what you will.
That depends on how it was said, if it was said in completely relaxed way, it's nothing, otherwise something might be off.

I was curious.
It depends on what you were thinking when she asked that question. If you were thinking abt someone’s dck, it means she might know more abt you than you abt yourself. If not, all is well. Dont overthink it

That's probably it.

Most women get hit on by random guys.
They get messages from random horny guys out of nowhere on social media.

I'm kind of like you in that respect. While a majority of men are just horn dogs there is a significant minority of us whose intellect predominates over the animal appetites.

Some women are destabilised and feel insecure when a man doesn't have that twinkle of desire in his eyes. "Am I not pretty enough?" "Why doesn't he want me when I've got guys hitting on me all day long?"
last chick that asked if i was gay was after me bad.....i could not bring myself to tell her i had been with her mom on and off for over 5 years by the time i met her.....

women will ask this question when being rejected
I once worked as a waiter in a restaurant ,some kid said to me, that I should wear lipstick and make-ups,she said something about girl power over boys to me.

I dont know where that all comes from, sure it was a kid's talk. maybe their sense for picking up gender and social behavior is sensitive when in restaurant.

and hopefully that's everything the kid picks up from me.

I have never heard about a writer that was employed at a restaurant. What did you do? did you write about the menu? poetry reading? etc
it is weird to ask just like that.
is it a person you know longer aka is it maybe longer on her mind... and this was just the moment she finally found the time and courage to ask you?
this longer on the mind can be for many reasons..

if it is a new person.. well it is as stated very weird.. and unless you gave out signals.. it can be that she merely had had experience where a guy she liked turned out to be gay.. and want to prevent to be hurt the same way right than and there...

I presume they just mispelled waiter, than again... many writing for many is not a profitable task.. so that writers like actors often end up working in restaurants to pay the bills is also possible..

Probably meant a waiter.
English isn't their native language.

Yes most likely.

Maybe you came across as being a little too gleeful at the table. I know there's another word for it but it escapes me. It's on the tip of my tongue. Okay, I just found out that gay is no longer being used as a synonym.
