The parable of the fly
I was going for a walk and on the side of the road I saw a pile of dirt and a single fly hovering around it. It made me think about perception and reality, wondering what it must be like to be a fly hovering around in the dirt as its entire existence.

It made me realize some of us are like the fly, hovering around our own piles of dirt.
But i am not a fly. I am frog. And I eat flies.

Behold! I am become Death!

I was going for a walk in my house and I saw an overlarge dusty bunny and a single fly in the hallway. It made me think about perception and reality; I did not know if this fly had been borne from what this dust once was. I did not know what, if any, crimes had transpired here; and it was in my best interest to assume none had. I could sleep easier at night, traversing this hallway to and from the kitchen, believing this was an innocent fly and an innocent dust bunny. Rather than evidence of some terrible, terrible crime.

It made me realize this is the nature of governmental corruption, and that like whatever that fly was born from, nay like the fly and the dirt and the dust itself, I have a habit of attracting and conglomerating these objects so that I can reproduce. Of decaying them, ripping the life from tangled ambitions and suffocating larvae before they can infest the populace.

This was very difficult; on the one hand, what I did, what I existed to do, was natural. On the other hand, it was disgusting. Horrifying. I saw myself as a monster from scary tales, some kind of fly carrying a fly-whisk hovering around a big poop pile. A kind of demon, insatiable, chaos-bringing. The author of my own misfortune.

I only spent 5 months moping that time, mop in hand as I tried to deny the externalization my overzealous cleansing represented and then crawled into bed and sometimes cried the rest of the time for my lot as a fly demon, but it's a feeling that I perceive whenever circumstances align once again to see myself as I am, when I am perceived in this light.

I've always had this perspective on birds.

People look at a bird and think, 'hey look at that cute little bird!'

Do they realize that bird might be 47 in bird years with 7 kids and a bad left wing?
That it might be tired of your nonsense and wants to forage food in peace?
You should not spout words that an Algorithm can steal to forward the gain of a pittance amount of humanity.

Have you ever murdered a crippled assassin.

This type of fly is quite common.

I was, at the time, merely a head of house and a provincial governmental influence. I did not have the time for anything but sobriety; and in these months of self-reflection I came to realize I had been denying the same of those around me. More flies coming for the poop that was just for me.

Art thou a daemon fly, sirrah?
