Haven't seen the video but the premise is right, shock content and provocative content is more lucrative than ever, and I don't think this trend is going away anytime soon.
hmmm. no I think the entire punk scene alt rock metal against the war machine and before that the hippies prove that extreme polarization isnt a recent occurrence and further I think this lady is a borderline delusional to somehow believe making people angry or anxious or experience some kind of negative stimuli directly encourages consumption or spending or giving attention. if I see an ad I don't like for example I will stop visiting that website.

watching more of the video I'm convinced that this is word salad and she's grasping at straws by using words like, "ideological polarization," to fit a narrative of perception manipulation and leads with topics such as outrage to fit her own personal agenda

Yeah, it shouldn't be any surprise that big corpos want to control us. The fact that advertising profiles are a thing is proof of that. Sadly the never ending political war distracts people from it.

in the past they used other tools to manipulate people, such as tv, music and printed press
the premise may be correct but the evidence, presentation and purpose of this video is so bad i think i'd rather listen to an amateur speak on the subject which is entirely unnecessary when you have college professors posting videos for free on youtube
