Maybe you could get a place next to Rosie.
The liberal upper-midwest like Minnesota and Illinois are still somewhat sane places, but the rest of the asylum still has the inmates running amok.
No luck for you. Just as much chance as a White South-African, a.k.a. none (sadly, I may add)
Illinois? Somewhat sane?🤣
Though maybe I'd advise not being so concerned with the cost of living. Your start might be a bit rockier, but wherever you are in the world, the lower class jobs have to at least provide enough for an individual to survive, and if you go to a higher cost of living area, you'll be earning more relative to low cost areas. It makes more sense to start life in a high cost of living region, then retire in a low cost of living region where your proportionate savings can stretch out farther when you move elsewhere.
