What I am about to say is not in any way against anybody at all.
I agree with what they are saying.
The Military is The Military.
Standards are going to get brought back up and there will be no trying to get these numbers for that or those number for this.
You are back to being a number.
A well trained and highly fit number at that.
It will improve your survivability in the long run and if you end up being put to war.

In the article which I will be looking up the entire speech it mentions he spoke about deploying soldiers to combat problem areas.
On one level that could be considered a form of oppression and a dangerous thing to do considering these are civilian neighbourhoods on another well if the police feel they are outgunned / stretched to thin maybe it is a way to get things done for the better in the long run.

I still feel uneasy about using Military for civilian matters.
