I Used To Think Anything Analog Was Obsolete
Except for maybe HiFi DACs/AMPs.

I've heard a lot of people say "We're living in the digital age".

I didn't realize that analog sticks on gaming controllers was called "analog" for a reason.

I also didn't realize that gaming mice, and touchpads on laptops, and touchscreens on smartphones were all analog.

ChatGPT says calculus is essential for engineering analog integrated circuits, so now I'm trying to learn calculus.

You will likely never see "analog" go completely away. Partly since we're analog :D The more a movement needs to be fine tuned the more likely an analog interface. No mater how small an increment, digital is still a jump; not a smooth transition, from one state to another.

The more precise the movement the more likely you'll get stuck "between states" in a pure digital interface. Much like driving a standard shift, or bike in traffic thats moving at a pace between gears. you can do it, but no one would argue it's "fine control"

EDIT a different example would be the never to be over damned gawd awful WALK AND TALK garbage so many trash developers use where the NPC walks at a different pace (between walk/ run version, or the slower than walk version) than you do. <--- I think days gone was the only game that implemented this with scaleable paces(npcs pace adjusted to yours), that didn't make me want to toss a monitor out a window. call this one the (simulated)analog, or automatic transmition version from developers that aren't retarded.

Analog is still very common for things where precision is important.
everything long ago is better then today
iirc analogue night vision goggles outperform digital night vision in almost every aspect
Analog technology is so damn aesthetic, I will never ditch it. It also reminds me of times when technology used to just serve its single purpose instead of trying to be "smart" to the point of being invasive.

Whatever? Your answer to that should just be 'no'. Some receptionist once humoured me that I needed to "upgrade" to the 21st century when they realised that my dumb phone doesn't scan QR codes. Lol.

Don't let people tell you that some things are antiquated because you haven't bought into the latest trends. Sometimes the simpler things in life are much better than having convenience.

Considering how easy QR codes are to exploit, hack your receptionist can kiss (insert adjective here)
