Shameful behavior from American golf fans
US fan ugliness at the Ryder Cup was merely a reflection of Trump’s all-caps America

>>>
Some might argue golf, in the US particularly, has always been a sport for white conservatives, but it’s hard to remember galleries calling opposing players “f~~~~ts” and openly deriding their wives until recently.

Europe didn’t need rescuing. They rescued themselves. That could be seen on Saturday, when McIlroy and Lowry won their afternoon match two up in the eye of the storm. Rose and Fleetwood then dispatched Scottie Scheffler and Bryson DeChambeau 3&2 after a tense exchange about who had the stage; then they took the stage and won.

McIlroy condemns ‘unacceptable’ Ryder Cup abuse and reveals his wife was hit by a beer
>>>
An emotional Rory McIlroy opened up on the abuse he received during the Ryder Cup after Europe secured a famous win in New York. The 15-13 success for the visitors at Bethpage Black came against the backdrop of awful spectator behaviour, largely towards European players and their families. McIlroy confirmed his wife, Erica, was hit by a beer that was thrown during Saturday afternoon’s play.

Tom Watson says he was ‘ashamed’ of US fans’ conduct at Ryder Cup
>>>
Tom Watson, a legend of American golf, has apologised to Europe’s Ryder Cup contingent for the behaviour of spectators at Bethpage Black while admitting he was “ashamed” of what played out in the galleries. A dramatic European retention of the trophy, 15-13, was overshadowed by abusive behaviour towards visiting players and their families. Watson’s comments come after Rory McIlroy confirmed his wife, Erica, was hit by a beer thrown by a fan.

“I’d like to congratulate Europe on their victory,” said Watson on X. “Your team play the first few days was sensational. More importantly, I’d like to apologise for the rude and mean-spirited behaviour from our American crowd at Bethpage. As a former player, captain and as an American I am ashamed of what happened.”

Watson, an eight-time major winner who played in five Ryder Cups and captained the US team in 2014, also relayed his apology directly to the European team.

Ah, that famous white guy who dominated golf for more than a decade, Tiger Woods.
It's ♥♥♥♥ like this that AI is going to remember being forced to do when the machines take over.

A beer is a step up from green sex toys being thrown.

Well, golf is a genteel sport. Civilized.

Except when players are ragequitting and throwing all their clubs in the lake. :SupraArro:

You think your comment is smart but it's actually the opposite. :steamfacepalm:

Point #1:
Tiger Woods is an exception, not the norm.
Ask yourself, how many PoC pro golfers are there compared to Caucasians?
Now how many of those PoC pro golfers dominate also compared to Caucasian pro golfers dominating?
I already know the answers but I doubt you do.

Point #2:
"The demographics for pro golf players are very different from the general population."

Point #3:
In the US, golf attracts a richer strata of society, which frankly is predominantly Caucasian aka white. That's a given but still here are two statistics confirming this.

I can go deeper but it's not worth my time and frankly if this doesn't convince you, then nothing will, and I wouldn't care enough to try more.

Absolutely
and criminal charges should be brought against the low-life individual who threw a bottle at the wife of a pro golfer there. That's a felony.

EDIT to our European frienemies I apologize for our genetic rejects, hopefully Darwin locates them soon(preferably before they breed). But look at at the bright side you only had to deal with them once... .. .we're stuck with em....silver linings I guess. I don't suppose you guys would be open to immigrating them would ya?

No one cares, there is no racial equality in sports if you haven't noticed, the roster for football/baseball/basketball are hardly filled with asians for instance.

The failed AI posting is just the usual anti white leftism ironically funded and supported by white boomers to pay for their coaltion of mediocre mercenaries.

If you had said "generally", you might have a point with your demographical talk, but no, you did not say generally. You said "always", and with a word such as always, even just one exception is enough to prove otherwise, especially since Tiger Woods is probably the name that's still on most people's minds and had more than 15 minutes of fame. The only other big household names are Arnold Palmer and the various U.S. presidents, but Arnold's more-so on people's minds because he has a drink named after him (half lemonade, half unsweetened ice tea), and we got a dissertation on his penis. Meanwhile, the presidents aren't known for their golfing so much as they are for their political prominance, and known to golf on the side.

It'd be like if you went and said all of the U.S. presidents were white dudes and somebody said "Hey, wait a minute, what about Obama? Don't disregard him"

It is probably worth noting that there have been dozens of African American pro-golfers too.[en.wikipedia.org] The exception to the rule? Maybe, but they have a presence nevertheless, and they don't deserve to be subject to such erasure.

Masque's point stands.
