Never mind Contra and Megaman, watching GenZ struggling with Mario 1-3 and World is disheartening. Especially when they mention they've been trying to play them with analog stick.

It seems to me that kids these days are far more skilled at gaming than they ever were when I was a kid.

Retro games were much harder because you couldn't resume where you left off, so players had to finish the entire game in one sitting or restart from the beginning, and the number of continues after a death was limited.

Most of us that grew up on 2d games myself included, played the puzzle rpg games, lots of reading and Brain power to complete the game. Now days, its all voice lines, nobody reads, and they stay on fps shooter games which does help with hand eye coordination.

Yeah they seemingly have skills I do not possess. I'm struggling to complete Sonic the Hedgehog 2. Number one yes, number two no.
