The Aether was resurrected, and the Aether II is in the works.
Optifine has largely been replaced by Iris, and with BSL or Complementary and Faithful32x, it's more beautiful than ever.

Still waiting for https://www.curseforge.com/minecraft/mc-mods/enhanced-mob-spawners/files/all?page=1&pageSize=20 to update. Seriously, does anyone use Fabric?
Java.
Mods.
But the Microsoft version is icky.
Original Minecraft is still peak.
There's been major updates since then. And there's so many mods, you literally can't play the entire game.
I have this issue with any survival crafter game like 7 days to die. I find the good loot, know how to get it, the fun is over. I can tower defense but there's no end-game, I live peacefully, going into town on occasion, and loot while everything scales so what's the point in getting better equipment?
I use the base launcher configured with all the popular performance & enhancing mods.
* Fabric API
* Sodium
* Cloth Config API
* Iris Shaders
* Entity Culling
* FerriteCore
* Lithium
and a few others..
Some mods are required to boost frame rates.
It's also WAY BETTER looking with Shader packs (such as "Complementary Unbound"; one of the best! or "Photon" which is another good one, or "SEUS-Renewed"), and also better looking with my custom made 128x128 & 256x256 resource pack!
I play it at 2560x1440.
And also with some other fair mods, like Xaeros map, justzoom, appleskin, and a few others that won't break the "vanilla" too much, lol.. (find mods and packs at: modrinth DOT com)
Just make sure you have a good performing gaming pc, or otherwise frame rates will suffer.
Minecraft survival (single player or with friends) and with mods and resource packs have become one of my most favorite games, top 10 for sure!
You had until Dec 2023 to transfer over. If you didn't, your account is gone forever.
Considering the game is stil $30+ I don't think it is worth it. Think I bought it for half that back in the beta.
