Chapter I
The Period

It was the best of times, it was the worst of times, it was the age of wisdom, it was the age of foolishness, it was the epoch of belief, it was the epoch of incredulity, it was the season of Light, it was the season of Darkness, it was the spring of hope, it was the winter of despair, we had everything before us, we had nothing before us, we were all going direct to Heaven, we were all going direct the other way--in short, the period was so far like the present period, that some of its noisiest authorities insisted on its being received, for good or for evil, in the superlative degree of comparison only.

“The brain that changes itself” by Norman Doidge is a great read. Finished it in 5 days and I’m not an avid reader.

Animal Farm, I Have No Mouth And I Must Scream, and 1984 are all good
I’m listening to Horus Heresy Audiobooks

I used to be able to read books and walk at the same time when I was a kid. Now the only way I can do that is with audiobooks and it keeps me invested in the exercise.

I’m also reading J/K/C comics through MangaPlus and Tappytoon. (ex. “War of the Adults”, “Surviving the Game as a Barbarian”)

As well, I’m referencing Kevin Crawford’s “Cities without Number “ and “Ashes without Number “ in preparation for a TTRPG campaign I’m constructing.

I think I will crack back open my copy of “The Many Worlds of Logic, 2nd Edition”.

It has been a while since I’ve read a conventional book in a conventional way.

Currently reading Tale of Two Cities and The Omen 2.

Tale of Two Cities
Charles Dickens likes to write and is for people who like to read not just for the story but for the description and style of his way.

A Christmas Carol
If you want a quicker type read then Charles Dickens The Christmas Carol maybe a little lighter.
But in the present day of the 21st century you will find Scrooge actually talks a lot of sense.
And the glaring plot hole is Scrooge could be full of cheer and generous at the end because he was so rich from a lifetime of saving most of his money and impoverishing himself of luxury.
His Nephew could have done with that money no doubt but instead Scrooge after having a major breakdown throws it to everybody else who would probably rob one and all including the nephew given a free chance.

And let us not forget, just how scandalous these times were Scrooge was in. The reason people were poor was not because of Scrooge it was because of the very wealthy (who demand everybody give to their chosen charities) and their charges of rent and food and stranglehold on industry and employment.

Christmas Carol, a nice story by the very talented Charles Dickens that has unfortunately turned a wonderful holiday into a feeding frenzy at a trout farm for well over a hundred years.

hope your all happy now
