Don't understand the difference for having rewards for your profile and having rewards for making comments and discussions.

Cause frankly I don't get the point of having points to customize your profile as a point.
When it's mostly Pay to Customize in the first place.
Though if points allowed you to eventually buy games... there will be a botting crisis for it.
