Only another nation can admit the existence of another nation, it is done by being in war with each nation where both becomes winners.
Them trade war machines and tech with each other and may team up to fight against a common enemy. For that reason it is going to take a big role what Russia will do.
If Russia claim land them become the nemesis and if them keep Ukraine as it was before the war it may create an ally. But I don't think Russia wanted any alliance.it just wanted total control on gas pipes and the people to replace the criminals in Russia.
The best thing that Ukraine could ever do is to leave Ukraine and pile up strength elsewhere. Perhaps in a distant future their dying world comes to an end as people leaves them to their devices.
Before today it was Russia fighting the Ottoman empire in Ukraine. History repeats.
Because Russian tactics have changed to adopt a different strategy and taking that much seems at odds with what they are strategically doing.
But up to you op if you want to promote what might be something quite inaccurate and show your priority.
