Let's go to Guy and find out!
I feel like some of the team names wouldn't pass or Guy's jokes (cause hes a feisty guy teehee) but otherwise a nice wholesome show.
Takeshi's Castle was a rare exception to this rule from an older time of Japanese MSM where the rules were a little more lax.
I also loved MXC and loved watching it back in the 2000's when it aired on cable TV in the USA. The challenges were fun to begin with, but the deliberately bad voice-overs made it even more funny.
Recently there's a push to censor anime too. However viewers in both Japan and USA are pushing back. Hopefully we continue to get fan service and gratuitous violence in this one last haven of mass media that doesn't suck.
ehh, maybe. but the humour even back then seemed pretty mild on the scale of offensiveness. i cannot imagine a modern remake would need too much tweaking
Save for a few LGBT jokes, this remake can work today.
the jokes in MXC were mostly sexual in nature and that wouldn't be allowed now.
idk how they'd make it funny while staying true to that without doing that.
MXC can absolutely work today.
