The 2 Most Important FPS Ever Made In My Opinion
Operation Flashpoint Cold War Crisis (now called Arma Cold War Assault) is the oldest FPS with air/land/sea vehicles and with full mod support including a map editor.

Arma 3 is the oldest FPS with air/land/sea vehicles and with full mod support including a map editor and that "Still has an active online community."

Operation flashpoint no longer has a active online community, partly because it originally ran on GameSpy which was defunct in 2013.

Both of these games were created by Bohemia Interactive.

Pretty much this.
Those games brought major improvements and changed the face of gaming.

Nothing wrong with the game you mentionned OP, but I don't see what major groundbreaking technologies they brought that revolutioned video games.

Ill just say my fav FPS currently are probably Doom (2016) and Black Mesa. Those are the most important of the modern era at least.

Duke Nukem Forever and Daikatana

Given BF1942 also gave new life to the genre back in the day, quite revolutionary for its time
Halo and Crysis were incredibly important too.

Crysis was just a benchmark tool with interactive mode. Gamedesign-wise it had zero value.

Half Life has mod support and an active multiplayer, it was released in 1998.

I played Crysis 2 a few months ago, it was really great even after all these years. I never played a Crysis game before that.
