losin what ??
I'm not buying a game system they can brick for any reason.
I enjoy my Switch and Switch OLED. I don't need or want a Switch 2.
Mario was great once upon a time but has interested me less and less over time. Bros 1-3, World and 3DL (I was pleasantly surprised with that one but it was the exception) are amaze, but 64 and Galaxy didn't interest me that much and I think NSMB killed my interest for good.
I gave up on Zelda with OoT since they're so obtuse. Or maybe I'm dumb. In either case, Zelda 1 was a nightmare, OoA's puzzles infuriated me and OoT had all the same problems to me as Zelda 1. I did like OoS, Adventure of Link and ALttP though.
Fire Emblem lost me on the GBA. They're really fun for a couple of chapters but then they get moronically difficult if you're trying for a perfect run (that is, collecting all the items the thieves try to steal, recruiting everyone and having no allied deaths). I did also play Shadow Dragon, but it was more of the same.
Pokemon: Blue version was eh. I didn't dislike it, but the music was annoying and I never could motivate myself to actually finish a second run or finish the Pokedex.
Mario Kart: I actually did like DS, but it was the exception. The power ups in all the others tend to be outrageously overpowered, to the point that playing well had nowhere near as much bearing on whether you win as I would like.
But I was a big fan of Smash Bros Melee and Brawl. I only stopped following the series because I stopped being able to justify buying more consoles. So that's one big Nintendo franchise that I really got into.
Other than that, I find the stuff I enjoy most is their sorta B list stuff:
Rare-era Donkey Kong Country was fantastic. I must've finished Country 3 at least a dozen times as a kid, with the other two not far behind. I never had much interest for the rest of the series though.
Lots of Kirby games are good. My favorites are Superstar Ultra and Planet Robobot.
Yoshi's Island and Wooly World, both great, with Island being by far the better of the two.
But my very favorite things of theirs, hands down, are F-Zero and Metroid.
I'm literally the biggest F-Zero fan you know. I have played every single one that I can reasonably be expected to (so no Climax or the BS SNES one, and no 99 because no have Switch). I need to loop back around and finish those last couple of story missions in GX on Very Hard, since those are the only challenges in the series I haven't been able to pull off (yet).
And Metroid, again no Switch, so I missed that one, but I have loved every other game in the series. To the point that I refuse to use guides to find all the stuff, which is not like me at all (lol). I guess the one exception is I found Other M kinda meh.
