If you use YouTube often like me, you probably have seen or at least heard about 'content farms'. For those who don't know, they're channels that produce low-effort content at a high rate, usually daily. I don't want to name any specific channels, but search any kind of media currently popular among children (TADC, Poppy Playtime, etc.) and you'll see what I mean.

I find these kinds of channels fascinating, but for all the wrong reasons. Firstly, despite their rapid upload rate, a lot of the videos that 'content farms' make are lazy, nonsensical, and if you're above the age of 5, absolutely unbearable to watch. There are also a laundry list of controversies and morally-questionable tactics associated with them. I don't want to get into the specifics as there's already a bunch of YT videos covering that stuff.

The main thing that does bother me is that several 'content farms' will market themselves to kids while containing material that is not child-friendly, like, at all. I'm not just talking about swearing or drug references. I mean they include ♥♥♥♥ that borders on softcore pornography. After the whole 'Elsagate' fiasco, it bewilders me how YT will allow these channels to stay up while punishing hard-working creators for saying the F-word. I dunno, I'm tired and just want to create a post that doesn't have anything to do with current events.
