What's the missing number?

47+13.8=4042
34+21.5=3130
53+17.6=4854
69+23.7= ?

Is the answer 6465?

The pattern that led me to this answer was:

47 + 13.8 = 4042
47 - 8 = 39
39 + 1 = 40
39 + 3 = 42
4042
34+21.5 =3130
34 - 5 = 29
29 + 2 = 31
29 + 1 = 30
3130
And so on, seems to work with each line.

I got to this one late.

But take heart for all newcomers to these.

They can be done and in time it gets easier to break them down and figure out what's going on.
