Zohran Mamdami is a funny concept
Supposed Muslim but fights for trans and gays, open cannabis user, is ok with sex workers

Anti police, anti prisons but wants to be mayor, which is a position upheld by gov force

Pro open city borders but wants to make it bad business for people to create more housing to house the supposed flow of unregulated immigrants coming across open city borders or for illegals who are already homeless. Let's just forget about the native born homeless who have always been here.

Tell me what part of this is not a joke?

Maybe I'm missing something here and or I just don't get it.

I do not vote ever in any election because I never consented to be ruled over.

You can be a religious person and still believe in a secular society.

Lots of religious people think that their religion shouldn't rule other people and it's a personal matter. And actually, those are the most bearable religious people out there.

I'd replace "religious" with "spiritual".
One sec, I'll give him a call and ask him what the deal is.

Imposing religion on other people is not a criteria for being religious.

Being religious is what YOU are - not what other people or the society are.

Ok heretic.
I think you're forgetting the funniest example.

- Born into an ultra-rich NYC family
- Went to $100k per year grade schools
- Lived off family money throughout his 20s without having a real job
- Complains about economic struggles he's never experienced and why socialist policies are the solution

Muslim in this context is an ethnicity, not a religion. And the framing is just absolutely crazy even if you were talking about religion. That'd be like accusing me of being anti-trans or anti gay just because I'm Christian. Sure, some of my fellow Christians are bigoted, but they don't speak for me. And it is my personal religious beliefs that my fellow Christians are going to hell for their bigoted beliefs.

Also, pretty sure Mamdani's views on sex workers are mixed. He doesn't want to legalise sex work out right. He does want to decriminalise it. Hence mixed, and what that means is stopping the state from pursuing most instances of it basically even if it isn't technically legal.

I do not believe he is anti-police. He even apologised for his past statements about the police no? Anti-prison is also reductive, but I suppose the anti-police statement was intentionally designed to be reductive too. So tit for tat on that one.

Besides, you can criticise powerful institutions while wanting to change these things from within. Like Trump has criticised the FBI, DOJ, and other law enforcement agencies while running for office. So what you're suggesting just seems to be out of touch with reality.

Pro open city borders isn't a real policy. It's a series of buzzwords invented by someone acting in bad faith. I'm talking about whichever propagandist you got the phrase from.

You're a sovereign citizen then? Merely being born in the US and continuing to live there is consenting to be ruled by the state's laws and practices. If you don't like the rules, why not move?

Mamdani is watching his carbon footprint. He takes the NYC subway everywhere and doesn't own a car ....

.... or so he claims. He's an upstanding citizen.
It's gonna be funny to watch to watch New York if he gets voted in.

the mental gymnastics will be unparalleled.

Plenty of space on my block list.

And yet the billionaires are scared to death of him. We need class conscious people no matter what their background is. Republicans hate democrats with money while simultaneously looking down on democrats like AOC for having blue collar jobs.

It's so ironic you're attacking Zohrans wealth when you support a nepotistic grifter who spends 300 million on a ballroom to wine and dine billionaires while Americans lose SNAP benefits.
The city that opens its prisons becomes a prison.

No, as a New Yorker, it's going to fun to watch carpetbaggers and foreigners who know nothing about NYC getting baited by content farms and fake news about what's supposedly happening here and then commenting as if they know what's going on. I, for one, have been passing the popcorn watching the huge disconnect between reality and fake news media.
Even if he wins, Hochul's not going to let Mamdani do very much in the ways of anti-billionaire legislation.
