US Territory of Guam attempting to keep access to food
With the US Government shutdown stopping food stamps on November 1st a tiny little island in the Pacific Ocean that is US Territory (Guam) came to a interesting dilemna.

Without Food Stamp buyers getting food, their few paying customers do not generate enough profit to keep Grocery Stores operating. Insufficient revenue to pay for refrigeration/electric bill to cool the food. It would end grocery stores as we know it and just be canned/dry goods.

The Government of Guam is now going to hand out $13 million a month and itself pay for Food Stamps to keep its grocery stores open and functioning.

This has never happened in United States History. A State (Territory) is footing the bill for food stamps.

At least Guam has $13 million.

Somalia isn't so lucky.

Though, Somalia's crisis occurred after USAID was shut down, not after the Democrats shut down the U.S. government.

Still, after receiving US aid for many decades, you'd think they'd have at least $13 million saved up by now.

But look at the bright side: Guam has now socialized groceries.

Let's see how well it works out for them.
