Find a job that you can do immediately(no training) or can do with the employer's training(if they give it). While you're earning income and not living on the street look for that better job with tasks you might actually enjoy doing. See if they require any special training and then go there when you're ready. Its better than winning the lottery if you enjoy the career you're in.

My entire plan for retirement is hinging upon me winning the lottery.

More chances to get hit by lightning then winning a lottery or finding a job.

I've been hit by lightening at least 15 times and I still have not won the lottery! WTH!
