It was revolutionary back in the day, i dont think there is modern game that has this level of destruction to this day other than maybe the Finals.

battlefield bad company 1 and 2 had really awesome destructable environments as well. i have never played the "mercenaries" games but supposedly they have pretty good environments to destroy as well
