what is in your nation the normal way to rent?
in my nation... when you rent you rent a property bare.

it will have basicly only the bare concrete or plaster walls.. the bare concrete or wooden floor.. no wallpaper, no paint no curtains, and certainly no closets or furniture
-it will have a toilet with a seat, a shower with a showerhead (but no shielding to prevent that water to splash everhwere), and a very basic kitchen block (a sink and a few cubborts thats it.,

even for light you can expect one single lightbulp to dangle from some wires from the ceiling at the hallway.. not screwed down or with fixture around it or anything..
in every other room you be lucky if there are even wires dangling (with a plastic cap on them to prevent danger)

YOU will have to paint or place wallpaper on all the walls.. YOU will have to place flooring YOU will have to buy and install light fixtures (and you might have to drag your own cables for them if they are not there where you want them yet)
YOU will also have to buy cubborts, furniture, and all electronics including a stove, refrigrator and so on.

the landlord is banned from entering your house while you rent, he can arrested for that.. that is seen as breaking and entering.
--
the goverment has capped how much he can increase it to once a year and only as much as inflation (which they set a number for each year usually around 3%) as well as total cap on what rent may never rise above that rises slower than inflation.
you can also never be evicted unless you have not paid rent 6 months and even than only by a lawcase and ordered out by a judge

when you leave the house... you are expected to strip again everything bare.. so scrape off that paint of wallpaper, remove the flooring.. remove anything you installed, and plug all holes and take all the furniture, and electronics with you for thats YOUR property.
you also will have to make sure everything is clean.
leaving anything behind or failure to strip in bare. can make you liable to pay the costs of having it brought back to how it was (usually a standard fee of 1500 euro for higher amounts a judge would have to grand it and than it would have to be a really bad case of vandalism)

=============

however from what I see online.. in at least the usa I see people renting apartments that are fully decked out.. not just carpet and wallpaper and closets even furniture.. like a frigginng hotelroom.
and you seem to just be allowed to raise rent whenever you want.. and how much you want unrestricted and also just cancel the lease and kick people out whenever

is that true?
thats weird... I think our way is better.. at least than I get to pick the colours I have to live in and not have to suffer the risk of suddenly being homeless..
but I can see how to you our way can seem yo you like "if I need 10k to 30k to make the house livable with flooring, wallpaper and lights and basic closets.. and than have to spend another 50k to buy furniture.. why rent at all"

====
oh and finally price.. in my nation the cost of renting a place is usually about 40% higher per month than buying the place would be
so the cost of a 30 year morgage (where you pay off the house in that 30 years) is 40% lower than the rent per month.. and ofcourse the morgage will be a fixed rate amount for all that 30 years while the rent will slowly increase that 3% per year..
-
yet despite cheaper many just can't buy.. for banks don't give you the morgage to buy it on your income.. you are allowed to spend 60% of it on rent.. but for morgage.. they not allow that high amount.. and houses are idioticly priced here..
-> thus most houses are bought by investment firms NOT people.. who rent them out by the same people they outbid on those houses.

==============
and ofcourse for everybody else.. if you rent in you nation.. how does that work..
is it cheaper than buying or more expensive ?

and are your houses when rented barebone.. or not?

rent is theft and landlords are thieves

Furnished apartments (flats) are not the normal way to rent here in the USA. Apartments usually come with carpet and kitchen appliances and very often with AC. Furniture comes with the renter.

Big Subject.
to be brief.
Landlord cannot enter property without your say so, if they need to enter they are to give notice in an emergency or serious 48 hours if utter urgency maybe 24 hours notice or for fear of the property or life they can enter without 24 hour notice.

On what it contains it depends on terms you rented it at.
Some come furnished and they expect that to be looked after.
Some require the tenants to have insurance of at least a certain amount for sake of argument £1000.

Often need a deposit of 1 and half to 2 months rent as well as paying your first rent.

The Agency fees have reduced because they were extortion and the people in them are morally evil who promoted such practice.
On the plus now Agency go check the property once every 6 months to make sure everything is ok and if not they get it sorted out by telling the Landlord to sort it out. - like maybe there is a leaking pipe not yet fixed or damp not yet fixed etc etc.

I don't know if they stopped the practice but Landlords could evict people and put it back on the market at a much higher price.

My experience of renting?
Usually quite terrible but that was down to ex wife mainly i think lol

One place I rented (when single) without an agency and the landlords would turn up whenever they felt like it, even on my only night off and i didnt hear them at the door because its my one day/night off a week so no guests and no expectations at about 9 pm at night.
Headphones on playing on pc and I hear a strange noise I look up and they are in the back garden banging on the conservatory door looking straight in at me!

They would go through my stuff when I was working and they would do it knowing when I was working.
I got monoxide poisoning too - a scary thing to happen. If you ever have gas for anything get a monoxide patch so you can tell if there is an issue. Look them up you put them on a wall or something and theres alarms iirc.

They got next to no rent from me - not by design myself but they wanted it in big lump sum so i saved it up over the months and when I had finally had enough of them and left.
they did not get their rent they got some but not months and months of it.
AND they knew if they tried to take me to court over it, they would be taken to the cleaners for their actions.

In the UK I strongly say if renting go through a reputable agency and do your research on them before handing any money or signing anything.
And make note of when you move in of ANY problems with the property even if its a leaky tap or crack in sideboard.
Go around with a camera take photos and document it and inform the Agency.
There will eb an ivnentory that says what is in the property along with any damages already.
So if anything is there that is not on that inventory that is when you photo, document and report.
BEcause the landlord WILL try to screw you no matter how smiley and polite they are to your face.
Landlords are greedy.

Typically, they rent furnished and renovated accommodation.
Furniture: kitchen, clothes storage, sleeping areas
Appliances: air conditioning, refrigerator, stove, microwave, washing machine, dishwasher.
Two rooms, 53 square meters.

Approximately 370 euros. Russia is not the capital, but it's not a small city either.

House and apartment?
Due to income disparity, there are about 2 ways to do it here.

Cheap one for labor just a room with nothing else. Not even safety.
And expensive one for rich boi have almost every amenities, plus furniture.
Pretty sure it varies state to state.

States that I've lived in require:

Working Heat
A refrigerator
A working toilet
A stove

I think that's it.

Oh yeah, I forgot, plus about 80 euros for utilities.
(This is an apartment.)

Here when you rent say a 3-1/2 it's a living room, a toilet, a bedroom and a kitchen that includes (or not) a fridge a stove. The paint is usually freshly done everywhere and the floors are clean carpet or hard wood . No furniture included usually go for $1000-1200 CDN or around 750- 800 US

Perhaps someone might be interested. A few years ago, you could rent an apartment on the coast in Turkey for $500; now the price is over $1,000 or more.

Here it highly depends on the offer. It would be rather much to write. But in general both is possible. Fully furnished, or nothing, or anything in between. Having a kitchen already installed is somewhat popular. I guess the overall standard is still without anything.

But certain things changed over the years. Like in the past You´d need to renovate the flat when You move out. This is no longer the case, and when i rented my first flat i negotiated this out as well, because it makes no sense, when everybody renovates the flat when they move in anyways.

I also negotiated in that the landlord would renovate the bathroom, and that we would share the costs for new flooring. I guess this is possible, when there´s no shortage in housing, and You´ve got a good job. Nowadays certain offers are ridiculous. It also used to be that You would rent three months ahead. Nowadays they sometimes have offers for the next week. I personally dislike the idea to have to pay rent for two flats for three months if i move anywhere -and i wouldn´t end the contract if i wouldn´t have signed a new one either, because i dislike the idea to be eventually homeless.

Like it highly depends on the contracts, and we have okay-ish laws if it´s about rent. So it protects the tenant and the landlord rather okay, except for some certain loopholes in them.

Here in canada you can get a little better living conditions, 99% of the time. I heard some real bad slum lord stories though, more than I like to admit.

The problem is, they spend half their income for rent. Thats absolutely ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ insane.

Yes, many Canadians are paying half their income to rent, with a 2025 survey indicating that 34% of renters spend over half their income on rent. This burden is particularly high for young renters, with nearly half (49%) of those aged 18-24 spending more than 50% of their income on rent. This situation is linked to higher frustration and a greater likelihood of considering moving cities to find more affordable housing.

Elbows up though, better focus on the americans president being a giant mouthpiece set on repeat.

Expensive.

In our area (0.5 million residents), you can find a three-bedroom, 100 sq. m. apartment in a new building starting at $100,000 with a monthly payment of $400, and you'll own the apartment in 20-30 years (with a loan).

There are also apartments for $180,000 with a monthly payment of $1,000 for 30 years.
But in any case, you can move in right away, and if you need to move, you can sell the apartment later.
hey, did you know that Mao killed over one million landlords?
just a fact i found interesting
a real fact
i didn't think something like that could happen haha
