Some people lock up when a gang of users(possibly the same person) begin flooding them with spam messages or hate. When its over they resume normal publicity.

This may be a subjective opinion; I roughly compared what was happening a month ago to now.
I might be wrong.
Some (I'll call them bloggers), who had public profiles, have now closed them. And there are quite a few of them...
(I won't name anyone to protect their privacy)

Because they have something to hide. Do not trust them.

My pile of secrets is miserable. Not worth the effort to discover anyway.

I don't know anyone here well enough to make any definitive judgments about their actions. Most often, people complain about harassment and that information from their profiles is used against them in arguments. Yet if someone keeps their profile private, it often suggests they have nothing worth showing in the first place.

It just prevents doxxing. Get over it.

My profile is private because it's very bare because this is an alt account because I don't trust OT.

I was going to message one of the people i noticed had gone private recently just to see if they are okay, but i thought it would be a bit weird to add them just to ask randomly lol

Probably just for privacy reasons, i think some people go private as well when they take a long break from online

But private accounts who have spent a grand total of $0 on Steam shouldn't have the privilege of posting in Steam forums.
