You also cannot become a Yazidi.
It is public now...
if you mean a true jew aka a decendent of the 12 tribes of israel..
if your mother is jewish.. you are jewish.
if your father has a tribe.. you inherit his tribe.
so you can only be jewish if your mother is..
but you can be a tribeless jew if your father is not of a tribe...
and in reverse you can have a tribe but not be jew if your father is jew but mother is not.
(this is however a recent way of thinking.. for it is in the bible old testament as well as torah.. when jewish man had foreign wifes that converted to Judaism.. like with ruth
and everybody consideres those children Jewish)
so most likely the original way was if one of your parents was jewish AND converted to JHWH.. and abodoned their pagan ways.. aka followed their jewish partners God.. than all children were jewish..
however serving foreign Gods.. seem not to tie this being jew.. so it might be as long as you have a single ancestor who was jewish aka of the 12 tribes.. and you convert to the God of Israel.. you are jewish..
As Christ is the messiah.. the correct religion to now follow would be Christianity.
Israel now has MORE than just 12 tribes.. as was the promise to abraham.
***there is however still a difference
those without any jewish blood are Gentiles thus they are born outside the covenant but added in Christ) and Jews (born in the covenant but would have been cut out if not accepting Christ)
-> there are also promises like owning the land of of juda.. and other blessings that apply even to christian jews... that not apply to christian gentiles.
they are the "elder brothers" who get a double share.
thus by serving the jewish faith after Christ (rejecting Christ) they are born jew.. but no longer israelites
and a gentile (no bloodline) that adopts judaism..is also still just an unconverted gentile and does not become an israelite in the eye of God.
Israelites are Christians.
for Israel is Gods people.. and Gods people after Christ are those that follow Christ.
=======
so there is NO way you could become a jew.. for jew means "decendant of the 12 tribes" you either are it at birth or never will be.
-> you CAN become an Isrealite by becoming a Christian..
**but again you cannot opt that double share for also being a jew.. you either are that by birth or not.
=======
however if under being jew you merely understand "follower of the jewish religion" than yes you can become one..
