Am I the only one who hates AI-generated images?
I know AI art is everywhere now, but honestly, I can’t stand it. Even at its best, it makes me cringe — and at its worst, there’s something about the texture that just makes my skin crawl. It’s got this weird, fake “almost real” look that I can’t unsee.

What really gets to me, though, is that it’s not real. There’s no person behind the image — no intent, no human touch, no story. It’s just a machine remixing data until something vaguely resembles art. It feels hollow.

I don’t mean this as a “tech bad” rant, but there’s something deeply off-putting about looking at something that pretends to be human-made when it isn’t. Every time I see AI-generated images used in games or fan art, I get this uneasy feeling — like staring into a mirror that doesn’t quite reflect right.

Anyone else feel the same way?

i dont care that much for AI pics but sometimes i use it for cleaning up a photo
How do you get those em dashes, the "—" dash? I know AI often uses it. I'm just wondering how you are writing it on your posts when em dashes aren't on normal keyboards.
I don't hate them, but I've been struggling far too long with Facebook's algorythm to not see them, because it seems that FB likes to show me either AI generated adds and/or reactions to adds...
AI is man made horror beyond coprehension
AI is for NSFW and nothing else.
I don't mind it with some limitations. Like any new tech it's a tool. It's not if you use it, but how you use it. Right now it's the wild west, but after a few years I have little doubt an ethical standard will work itself out on how stable diffusion and other algorithm's are used.
Some of the images are really good...The programming for AI is top notch in the high end platforms...You have to tip your hat to the coders...
i can relate

Search online and copy paste.
I hate everything AI.
AI always has a peculiar stamp. Music is soulless. Artwork is gaudy. Video lacks realism. It's a little disconcerting many do not seem able to tell the difference. Doesn't bode well for the future.
We've all grown weary of it I think. 2-3 years ago I was the biggest AI advocate, now I'm firmly in the anti camp.
Depends how much effort you put into it, some people just write a vague prompt and roll with whatever they get, some imagine an image in their mind and try to accurately describe that to the AI and generate dozens of images or sometimes manually edit them to try to get the desired outcome.

It's certainly a useful tool to turn an idea into something more 'real' quickly and pretty effectively.

I'd rather not have AI-generated posts here in this forum.

Here's how you can spot them in 10 seconds: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9Ch4a6ffPZY

I use them frequently, and always have.

In my experience using a regular dash, twice, results the em dash being displayed -- the blog or forum software automatically converts the combo for you.

EDIT: Just not this one. There might be an ALT code for it (like ALT+0153 is the copyright symbol™.)

OP, I don't hate the images at all. I think it's pretty cool.

On the other hand, I despise the use of LLM for use in forum conversations, and moreso the "Grok, is this true?" responses that appeal to an LLM's "authority".
