GTA and violent games tap into something that is common to most human beings. Loli/shotacon stuff appeal to a very specific type of man, one who is attracted to kids. Aggressive thoughts are normal, pedophilic ones are not. It's really that simple.

Now, whether it should be illegal is a separate conversation. It's a victimless crime, but I don't know whether that type of content normalizes pedophilia or provides a harmless outlet for it.

When r/jaiIbait got taken down. I believe it was because too many of the members (especially the mods) were trading real CP secretly between each other. So that's why I say there is a link between the two types of content. Whether it's from causation or correlation is up for debate. But I dislike the loliconners either way because I'm pretty sure that link exists.

It is hard to tell. Part of me would agree with you, but personally I could not care less about those characters and about products based on thoise characters, that usually are just a lot of fanservice and because of that you have no other reason to care about those products unless yoiu are specifically interested in that trope itself. So on the other hand I also think if I was interested in those characters then it would mean something.
Being interested in those characters is not a choice so it would be useful to understand what those products do, what is their effect: do they just incite bad behaviour in real life, or are they a way for people with this kind of interest to to releasae their urges and have more control over themselves in real life? I don't know and it's not my problem but I think that this is the only thing that matyters.

After all you know, personally I think that games like GTA should not be created and expecially should not be allowed in stores to be sold. I have no problem with a game like Carmageddon (and I mean the uncensored version) it is not the content itself but the way it is presented. Carmageddon in real life would be a crime too but it is so crazy, so "stupid" (in a good way), so nonsensical and over the top that it forces you to not take it seriously. But GTA on the other hand (and other products like it, including movies and tv shows) just looks like an advertisement for criminal activites and bad behaviour.

Just like I said before, I think that a game similar to Carmageddon is just a way to vent some stress and anger when you need it while a game like GTA to me seems much more dangerous and capable of incite this kind of behaviour or at least normalize it instead. So it's not like GTA is not contreversial at all. Personally I think that products like it should not exist.
