As a Catholic i tend to keep my religion to myself. That is between our family and our savior. Nobody else imo.

Every single religious person on the planet picks and choose what to believe in their books. It's why we get everything from soup kitchens to terrorism.

You have to think of the Bible in the context of what is known as "Progressive Revelation." Times were different back then. In a perfect world we could all share and get along, but sadly, this will not be a perfect world until Christ returns. Also, there were things done at that time that were done for a reason or done because people in that time believed that was how it was meant to be but didn't have the full picture.

Oh, and PS. You don't have to be right-wing or even left-wing to be a Christian. Both wings are of the same bird. It is better to not be a part of the left-right paradigm.

As an atheist who knows The Bible well, I can assure you if judgement day is real there are going to be a lot of very surprised people taking the down elevator.

The left wing obviously not following the bible. They flat out dismissed the passages that contains "homosexuallity". One cannot be Christian if the one cannot believe in the bible.

Sounds like OP pick and choose what topic and not to discuss core values and beliefs in the bible. It appears that you're confused between MIC such as US federal government and ordinary civilians.

Nah, the only hypocrisy I see here is that as I already stated if you know how to read. Yes I already know alot of what you say. I am looking for your acknowledgment that the left did exactly as I stated. By excusing one passage doesn't make it a right. Have you heard of that?

The right wing, did not excuse any passage in the bible. Where is the hypocrisy is there?

Hoarding of private wealth is indeed immoral, the money must be volunteered to the cause of the new Worker's Revolution or Seized by force. Nothing can be allowed to stand in the way of The Nice Collectivising and Redistributing Earthly bounties to ensure Cheer and Goodwill throughout the year, not just on Christmas!

And I'm saying I see no difference in how the right and left treat religion/spirituality. Even the most adherent Christians seem capable of ignoring their own scripture when it condemns an aspect of lifestyle they have chosen for comfort.

Just because righties proudly announce their faith doesn't mean they're very good at practicing it. I know plenty of outright racist, vulgar, judgemental and very angry Christians.

In fact, my wife and I made the observation the other day: our Christian friends have the dirtiest mouths of anyone we know. Even around their kids.

Again, do you agree that Christians are willing to overlook the whole 'divorce and remarriage' condemnation because that would mean they would have no life partner? But then they're willing to deny someone else a life partner because they're gay, even though The Bible condemns homosexuality a mere five times to the MORE THAN TWO DOZEN TIMES it condemns divorce and remarriage.

Why are you taking more of an issue with a facet The Bible seems to have less concern with than with Divorce and Remarriage?

What you're blaming the left of doing the right is just as guilty of. So why do you hold more contempt for the lefts transgression and no real mention of the transgression of your fellow Christians?
