Why do people always pull over for ambulances?
I understand that you should pull over if you're in the way. But I'm talking about how people always pull to the side of the road the instant they even see one with its sirens on, without any other conditions.

Real life is not GTA. An oncoming ambulance going at speed is almost definitely not going to make a sudden kickflip over a huge divider to make a U-Turn, putting you in its way. It's not going the same direction. It can't turn around any time soon. And if it did you'd have plenty of time to pull over.

Why do people just pull over so blindly?

One of the few laws in the United States that gets enforced if you do not.

Even the illegals with no license or insurance know enough to pull over.
Because you don't know where the ambulance is going to stop or turn.

Outside of the law it's for safety. You never know when/where they need to turn in. I can pretty much promise you that whatever hurry you may be in their need is far greater. It's also a sign of respect, least where I'm at people pull over for funeral procession's as well.

They frequently break all sorts of laws with reckless abandon. Why choose this particular stupid law to finally obey blindly?
It's so the ambulances can navigate the roads easier at higher speeds. Just pull over like a decent person or pretend that it's someone you care about in there.
Emergency vehicles are allowed to travel in the lane of oncoming traffic. Even if they're not behind you, get over and stop.

You do never know where they're going.. So, you do make the space just in case.
Those extra seconds do matter..
Because you need to clear a path and give it freedom of movement

Because they are trying to save people you have zero empathy about. Pathetic weasel.

How do you know the ambulance does not have explosives?

Would you want to risk getting blown up by an Ambulance?

Mate, you need to think ahead sometimes.
